What Am I Feeling?

What am I feeling?

Shocked, thankful, emotional, teary, blessed, speechless, lucky, loved….

All of the above….and more.

With the slight move of a black computer mouse this morning, I  discovered a beautiful sticker in blue. A notification from WordPress of my 5ooth post.  The number….500 is a surprise. It stares back like a badge of honor, I suppose. And, although alone today, it’s already printed, carefully cut out, and posted proudly above my heart. Silly? Not to me.

Did I ever think of writing 500 posts? No, never, not in my wildest dreams. Still, it’s not the number that is most important. It’s the passion for writing together with YOU, the gift of readers.  At any given time on WordPress, I can sit down to tap letters upon a keyboard, knowing I’ll share words with an extended family of talented writers, and readers. I am forever grateful.

Thank you to each and everyone for reading even a single letter of my writing at Chronic Conditions & Life Lessons. Time is a precious commodity of which there is less than the day before. This thought rarely leaves my mind. Some of you have been here since my very first post, others stop by if possible while new friends may just beginning to pop in. The point is, I truly appreciate your time in reading my words, whenever that may be.

What am I feeling? Shocked, thankful, emotional, teary, blessed, speechless, lucky, loved….

All of the above…and more.

I Am Rich! – by Mary D

Without trying to, Mary has found the reason for the season.

Kindness Blog

I am elderly and my health is not the best.

I am always amazed when I go out with my oxygen tank how many people smile at me warmly, open doors for me, or ask if I need help.

Truly, I believe most people have kind, loving hearts and are willing to share of themselves.

I have an abundant life –

I have a husband who has loved me and been a strong support in my life for 60 years. I have children and grandchildren who have grown into beautiful adults, I have a roof over my head and am warm in the winter weather, I have an excellent medical team who work to make me feel better and I live in an agricultural area and a lot of the food I eat is farm to table.

Truly I have an abundant life for which I give thanks from…

Good health is the most important asset in our world of life of living.  Thank God, for each breath upon this earth.  Remember Him each time you walk or run, skip a beat or smile so happy wide.  Look to the sky while painting pictures with poetry.  Reach fingertips to touch a toddler’s chubby cheek before resting imaginations of wishes and dreams.  Thanks be to God for good health together with life itself. Gratitude.

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

I suppose Bobby-C at http://bobby-c-blog.com/ & http://bobby-c-health.com/ has given up on me by now.  “Wow,” he’s probably saying.  “That was a waste.  Why did I bother to nominate her blog?  It’s been sooo long.”  Please, Bobby-C, don’t give up on me!

Procrastination is a terrible fault of mine.  Life takes over, pushing everything back ‘one more day’ until each becomes further from the next.  Suddenly days turn into weeks flipping a card-stock calendar page up above to the nail pounded in my yellow mudroom wall.  Poke it through the perfect hole…there it is, a glossy picture of a brand new shining month!  Whoops…if I don’t get going another page will turn on me.

With undeniable gratitude I thank Bobby-C, for nominating my blog for the, Very Inspiring Blogger Award, together with his patience at my formal acceptance.  Bobby blogs at http://bobby-c-blog.com/ & http://bobby-c-health.com/ where you will find his most inspirational journey through personal goals and aspirations.  He’s a dedicated family man, full of life spirit who loves the outdoors and all that it entails.  The father of four grown children, they are most important to him together with his lovely wife.  Thank you, Bobby, for this beautiful award.

Recently, Susanne nominated my blog for this beautiful award.  For once, I am not waiting numerous weeks (dare I say a month or more?) to formally accept it.  Although it may have the same name as another, this award is different.  Beautiful in gold, tall and true, it is a symbol of support and admiration for my work.  Thank you with humbleness and pride, Susanne.

200th Post!

To everyone reading this, I just pushed the button for my 200th post.  Surprised I was to see this icon at the top of my notifications this morning!

I thank all of you who have read my words from the very depth of my heart and soul.  To those who have been with me from the beginning and to others who have just hitched aboard my sometimes weary train.

It’s been a little over eight months since I started down these wayward tracks, not sure of where they would lead.  Such a pleasure my journey has been!  I’ve discovered beautiful scenery through other blogger’s paintings, art and photographs.  I’ve read stories that have touched me dearly, causing me to weep with joy or sadness while discovering personal triumphs or misfortunes through lovely written prose.

I’ve laughed aloud at posted videos, gaggled at jokes or sighed at quotes.  My family has kissed new plates of foods I’ve tried to cook from recipes you’ve given me.   And, oh, the poetry I’ve read from all of you. Inspiration it’s been for me!!

Ah, you have taught me so much more than I could ever learn though books or tapes or classes held.  A sincere “thank-you” for supporting me together with my work.  My spirit is lifted because of you.

Thank you again, and bless you always.

A long, over-due gesture of sincere appreciation and gratitude to Brian, for nominating me for the The Versatile Blogger Award together with the Sunshine Award. Brian has a wonderful blog at http://fozzyfitness.wordpress.com.  We have one thing in common that I know of, Scotland.  My great-great-grandfather was born in that country of castles and green.  All alone at the age of 13, he boarded a ship to cross the Atlantic, hoping for a better life in America.  Brian lived in Scotland before embarking on a colorful life full of ideas to write about.  Please visit his most prestigious blog where you will discover a treasure chest filled with words to devour.

Thank you for your patience, Brian.  I did not forget your kindness nor your support.

The rules of acceptance for the above awards are as follows:

1)  Thank the person who has nominated you.

2)  Place the award badges on your blog page.

3)  Answer the ten questions listed below.

4)  Pay it forward!  Nominate ten deserving bloggers for the same awards.  🙂

Ten Delightful Questions for Me to Answer…..

1)  What is my favorite food?  Today?  Is chocolate a “food?”

2)  Who is my favorite actor? Oh, there are so many.  It’s a tie between Gene Hackman and Liam Neeson.  A little rough around the edges with kind souls.

3)  What is my favorite television show?  I like both, “Mad Men” and “Ray Donovan.”  Although at opposite ends of the spectrum, both have excellent writing with terrific actors.

4)  What is my favorite “Tear Jerker?”  The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks.

5)  Tea or Coffee?  It’s summer.  Iced green tea for me.

6)  What is my favorite sport?  I live in St. Louis, home to the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team.   No doubt about my answer!
